Our certified training staff love sharing their passion for fitness with you. Our mission is to provide you with the highest quality coaching, resources and support backed by a motivating and encouraging community.


Leah + Joseph

Meet the Owners. With a combined 20+ years of fitness training experience, Coach Leah and Coach Joseph are the heart of Anchor Fitness. Where did the idea come from? Leah and Joseph began noticing an intrinsic need in the community for a place that offered group fitness without the intimidation. There was a need for a gym where you could be challenged to work hard, while feeling the support of a community and guidance from trainers who truly care about your health and wellness goals. This was and is today, the foundation of Anchor Fitness. The beginning.After lots of prayer and reflection, Coach Leah began training a handful of clients in a small studio space. But after a few short months- the Anchor community had exploded, maxing out this space. Batavia is where these coaches call home, and when a 1500sq ft space in an open air warehouse became available… Anchor planted it’s roots. Within 365 days, Anchor Fitness would undergo two more facility expansions. In May 2018, Anchor Fitness now encompasses 22,000 sq ft of training space; including a state of the art skills course for our youth ARK athletes, and a boxing gym. The journey that began as a dream, in three short years now employs 8 staff members, over 190 clients, and continues to grow month after month becoming a household name for health and wellness in the community. This is a community of members tackling challenges they never thought possible. This is a team of trainers sharing their passion with the community. Words can’t describe how different this place is from other gyms- you must see it… to believe it. This is Anchor Fitness.

Meet the Trainers



Growing up with vast interests, I played different youth sports and was a collegiate rower and while fitness was a hobby I didn’t truly know it was the field God was calling me until I began personal training. I love helping people reach their goals and I loved the relationships that came along with 1:1 training. Soon after Joseph and I married, sweet Oliver, our son, came along and I realized more and more that I wanted to be able to help more people instead of the handful on my training schedule. Working on my fitness goals post pregnancy reminded me what it felt like to feel uncomfortable in your skin and the intimidation that can come from stepping into a gym when you are not where you want to be. I never wanted anyone to feel like I felt… and then came the idea for Anchor Fitness. A place where everyone is welcome, there is no intimidation here, only support. I might have had the idea and business plan for Anchor but this community is driven by it’s amazing members and the awesome individuals I am so blessed to be on our team. God is so good.



The newest trainer to come on staff, I couldn’t be more excited to be on this team. I bring my extensive background in the Physical Therapy field coupled with my love for all things boxing to our clients. Watching individuals overcome a significant injury has given me the passion and strength to help our clients exceed their personal goals- no matter what obstacles stand in their way.



As a high school and collegiate athlete, I have grown up around fitness and that’s what initially sparked my passion. I have worn many hats surrounding fitness over the years. I have been a Coach for youth athletics, focused on youth endurance and sports performance training, personal training and more. Quitting my job in corporate America and coming on board to Anchor full time in 2017 was a huge turning point for me. Instead of watching my wife build this business from the sidelines, we are able to give 110% of our time, energy and passion to this community together. Our community is built on the foundation of sweating through and crushing a workout together- not matter what you experience level- we are always here to encourage and motivate you- whether it’s conquering a heavy back squat or running your first mile without stopping- we love both those moments the same.  What fuels my passion? Watching our clients, young and old, complete workouts and challenges they never thought possible.



I began participating in team sports at a competitive level beginning at a very young age. This drive coupled with my Early Childhood and Psychology education background spurred my love for fitness. My background of Olympic lifting combined with a passion for exercise and physiology shaped the trainer I am today. I love meeting new clients on every step of their fitness journey and watching them transform is my favorite part of this job. Outside of Anchor, I love being a wife, mother, sister, daughter and friend. Three years ago, my husband and I adopted our sweet boy, Tai, and we hope to grow our family more in the future.



I have been an Anchor member for about a year and a half. I started teaching B+B one year ago in June! Boxing is truly one of my passions. I started boxing 4 years ago and have continued to learn and grow as a boxer since. I teach 4th grade for CPS. I love my job and I love my students, they always keep me positive! Outside of the gym I spend a lot of time with friends and family. I also love to read, travel, and spend time with my dog!



I fell in love with Anchor Fitness the moment I walked through the doors. Being a part of the training team, supporting a fitness community that lifts each other up and encourages one another has been a dream come true. Youth Fitness has always been my passion and when the opportunity came around for an ARK trainer, I knew this was the perfect fit for me. My favorite part of coaching your ARK Warrior is seeing them grow in self confidence and teaching them how a healthy, active lifestyle can be fun. As a mom of two amazing, active kids coupled with my fitness background, I know what it takes to keep your child engaged and motivated in our ARK sessions!
